Cannon is an international group based in Italy, with global operations for the supply of equipment for the many industries using polyurethane, composites, thermoforming
and energy.
Being at the forefront of industrial processing technology, Cannon develops turnkey solutions for many applications related to the composite industries from dosing systems and moulds to presses and pre-formers.
HP-RTM is the natural evolution of the traditional low pressure RTM. A fully cured composite part can be obtained in a time-frame ranging from less than 2 up to 5 minutes. The process consists of the injection of a multi-component mixed thermosetting or thermoplastic matrix into a closed mould in which a dry reinforcement preform has been previously placed. Cannon presses for HP-RTM technology are suitable for both SMC and PCM.

Liquid Lay Down (wet compression molding) was developed to impregnate the recycled carbon fibres through a controlled open mould pouring. The final product is often characterised by more isotropic properties for better milling. The process is now widely used with recycled carbon fibre (R-CF) as well.
Technology for the co-injection of polyurethane formulations with chopped fibres directly in the mixing head. Excellent wetting and distribution of the fibres to create reinforced parts, especially if coupled with thermoplastic sheets. Compared to the traditional SMC technology, LFI operates with cheaper raw material, lower working temperature and lower clamping force.

In the renewable energy wind blade industry, Cannon is one of the leaders in vacuum RTM, direct infusion, degassing and gluing technologies. The company’s solutions minimise wastes, reduces operator intervention and automatically checks the resin parameters for an excellent and reliable control of the process.
Cannon designed metering and mixing machines for pultrusion technology operating with polyurethane and epoxy systems are easily integrated with any pultrusion line.
