Belotti’s 40-years of know-how and wide range of CNC solutions were on display at the recent JEC World 2019, one of the leading international composite events.
From 12 to 14 of March 2019, some of the most important players in the composite and lightweight materials sector met at JEC World 2019, the international show entirely dedicated to composite materials and technologies, related sectors and applications. Belotti 3- and 5-axis CNC machining centres for milling and trimming of several materials, especially composites and light alloys, were on display at the show in Paris Nord Villepinte. Set on a 120 m2 stand, visitors have the chance to discover firsthand the company’s philosophy: its extensive range, values and 40-years-long history.
On the stand, a Belotti FLU machine was on display, with complex demonstrations open to the public, in order to show examples of extensive milling and trimming operations of composites such as carbon fibre. The event was also an ideal opportunity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the company, whose foundation dates back to 1979. Therefore,
the stand provided the appropriate stage for telling the Belotti story, developed from the daring vision and enthusiasm of the founder Luciano Belotti.
Belotti’s extremely reliable solutions assure high performances and productivity together with precision and quality of the finishing, even when components require extremely detailed geometries. The company’s product range is especially suited for the composite industry, where it is well-known and also renowned for its uncompromising combination of rigorous approach to technology and passionate dedication towards each project.
This in turn leads to further product developments, such as the SKY range of 5-axis CNC solutions for high-accuracy machining of aluminum moulds and composites. The SKY range follows Belotti’s path to innovation, with the ultimate goal of helping customers increasing their productivity. One of the latest additions from the Italian company, these 5-axis CNC solutions guarantee higher rigidity and accuracy of the cutting tool, and drastically reduced vibrations to obtain a higher quality surface finish during milling operations.
With linear axes equipped with high precision ball-screws and glass scale optical feedback positioning systems, they are particularly suited to machining moulds and models of any shape and size. Available in different configurations, these machining centres represent the right answer to the most demanding automotive and aerospace industries when working with composites and light alloy such as aluminium.
Belotti’s CNC range is completely designed and assembled in Italy, in order to meet the demanding requirements of high-tech application sectors, in particular: aerospace, automotive, nautical, railway, patterns and moulds, and aluminium plates. Today, the company keeps growing both in terms of customer base and of its service to the various market sectors.
Distributed in about 60 countries worldwide, its CNC centres are constantly-improved and quite often highly-customised solutions. The exclusive agent for the UK is Cannon Shelley, and Sales Manager, Rob Lornie, explains: “The Belotti ‘practice-on’ approach consists of constant tests on its own machines; the ability of learning from its international success stories as well as challenges; the intention to follow and even anticipate trends in industrial environments that are always smarter, more connected and definitely collaborative. Just like composite materials, it is not only a matter of strength: For Belotti, it is always about reliability and flexibility at the same time.”
