Belotti has been manufacturing 3- and 5-axis CNC machining centres for 40 years, offering its customers the utmost quality and reliability required to thrive in today’s highly competitive market. The company recently installed a new machining centre within the premises of a leader in hand lay-up processes for composite materials, Camattini Meccanica, an Italian company set up in 1962 and acquired by the Dallara Group in 2014.
Following the installation of the new Belotti FLA 5526 twin-shuttle machining centre, Davide Seletti, Engineer and Managing Director of Camattini, reflected upon the manufacturing requirements that led to the purchase of this machining centre. “The daily challenge we have to face is to offer high quality products reliably delivered to meet customer deadlines. In the past two years, we have grown from mainly manufacturing for motorsport and defence to a 50 per cent turnover in the automotive sector. This break-through has somewhat changed our manufacturing technology requirements to meet the more diverse product features and customer demands, so we needed to change our machinery,” he explains.
The Belotti FLA 5526 provided the ideal machine to bridge the gap in the company’s 5-axis machining capacity. Davide Seletti states: “As a consequence of our diverse customer demands we needed a large machining centre to meet our increased productivity requirements; this is why we chose the twin-shuttle model. We picked a Belotti machining centre from among several possible solutions as the product features and precision perfectly matched our requirements for speed and accuracy.”
Davide Seletti is pleased with the choice as it has provided production advantages and was immediately integrated in to the manufacturing process. “I have a positive outlook for the future and our challenge will be focused on companies that supply end customers with a one-stop-shop service. This is why I think that all the companies that are able to supply finished or semi-finished products and offer customers quality, reliability and effective timing will be successful in the composite material sector. This is the business trend we see and our new manufacturing facilities were crucial for us to reach these high precision and productivity levels,” he concludes.
