Based in Daventry, Biesse is the UK subsidiary of the global Biesse Group that is headquartered in Italy. The company is introducing the Materia CL; a versatile 5-axis self-contained machining centre offering the ability to machine components with larger Z-axis requirements up to 1,200 mm. “It will be the first time anyone has seen the Materia CL here in the UK and we are very proud to be exhibiting it at MACH 2018,” (Stand H18-240) says Jeremy Dunkin, UK Marketing Manager.
Perfectly suited to the aerospace, automotive and motorsports sectors, Materia CL is a gantry-type machine with linear axes travel rates of 60 m/min, that has been developed for processing composites, acrylics, foams, plastics and advanced materials including carbon fibre and alloy coated materials. The X-axis can be specified up to 5 m and the Y-axis up to 2 m, with various worktable configurations available, including aluminium profiles or vacuum fixturing, and a comprehensive dust extraction system for continuous safe and reliable operation.
Equipped with an electro spindle or orthogonal head the 5-axis machining centre is designed to meet a wide variety of high-speed machining needs for the milling of advanced and compound materials and special or stratified resins for mould models, thermoformed components and complex three-dimensional elements found in the most demanding industry sectors.
Jeremy Dunkin adds: “We will also be showcasing the Rover Plast A FT, which boasts world beating acceleration and deceleration linear vector rates of 104 m/min. Fitted with an electro spindle offering up to 19.2 kW and speeds of up to 36,000 rpm, the standalone NC processing centre is designed for companies looking to grow with a flexible manufacturing solution. Alongside it will be the Brema Plast Eko 2.1, a compact and versatile vertical machining centre requiring a minimum footprint of just 2,800 by 1,940 mm. Eko is the ideal solution for the ‘just-in-time’ production of finished parts, simultaneously machined on all six faces.
“For the first time in the UK, visitors to our stand will also be able to see the Primus 402 Waterjet Cutting System. Suitable for processing metals, alloys, glass, ceramics and composites as well as advanced or special materials, its is equipped with a 5-axis cutting head featuring a continuous rotating C-axis (patented) that allows the accurate cutting of profiles at up +/- 60°. Our customers tell us that the quality of the machines components is second to none. And finally, we will be introducing the Viet SV3 metal grinder, to the UK market. Viet brings together more than 60 years of experience in a machine designed for the heavy-duty processing of metal surfaces including de-burring, edge trimming, buffing and finishing.”
Biesse claims to deliver some of the fastest and most versatile processing centres available in the market today. “We pride ourselves on continually developing technology designed to make the manufacturing of complex components, especially from advanced or special materials a deliverable expectation,” states Jeremy Dunkin.
Biesse Group has a global turnover of more than €650 million, invests more than €14 million on research and development and employs over 100 sales, engineers and service staff, here in the UK; providing customers with all the support they require when it is needed.
